The Lyman Marching Greyhounds (the band, dance team, and color guard students) will be attending the National Cherry Blossom Festival this coming spring (2010).  The festival's parade is a favorite springtime event and is one of the largest activities in the National Cherry Blossom Festival.  This annual two-week celebration of Japan's gift of trees to the United States in 1912 draws nearly 100,000 spectators to Washington,  D.C. each year.  The band, dance team, and color guard students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 have the opportunity of participating in the parade which winds along the historic  Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets.
